Goal(s)
The aim of this course is to make students aware of the particularities of electronic circuits when the frequency exceeds GigaHertz (S parameters, adaptation, stability, etc.), and to get them to work on a project structured according to the model: Simulation - Realization - Characterization.
Content(s)
This module is a project based on RF design software. The aim is to produce a 1GHz amplifier in compliance with the characteristics set out in a specification. A significant simulation phase is carried out, with the design of the printed circuit board. This is followed by a phase of physical realization, with soldering of SMD components, then a passage to the vector analyzer for the characterization part.
Prerequisites"RF transmission" module (e2i5 - 9th semester)
100 % project evaluation:
- Written report
- Practical test (device performance characterization)
