Goal(s)

The study of distributed systems is essentially the study of a group of machines that cooperate via exchanging messages, in the presence of failures (machine or network). To resist failure is a design challenge that will take your coding skills to the next level.

Content(s)

The course are focus on the design of distributed systems, in particular the impact that fault tolerance has on that design. The course is organized around case studies.

Prerequisites

The course has no specific prerequisites beyond basic object-oriented programming in Java and some basic understanding of concurrent and event-oriented programming.
