Goal(s)
The aim of this lecture in digital medical device technologies is to understand how to analyze, build or take control of a complex innovative medical device made up of elements of perception (medical images, position sensors, geometric and physical properties), reasoning and action (surgical robots).
This course explores the technological aspect of digital medical device development, where several technologies need to be integrated within a single application: imaging, 3D instrument localization, object geometry. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of a robot to perform a medical or surgical procedure.
Content(s)
This module is based on a guided project. The project integrates the discovery and understanding of medical device for computer assisted medical intervention. Experts of the domains help the students during the process, especially for the multidisciplinary project management and the technical specification applied for clinical protocol.
Outline:
1. Introduction
2. Theoretical reviews linked to the project
3. CamiTK Software Development Kit tutorial
Project
Medical image processing, mathematics for 3D geometry, programming and information system modeling, project management, norms and regulations of medical devices
100% project evaluation : deliverables + project presentation
