Goal(s)

Recognize the large classes of behaviour of materials in the fluid state. Know how to choose a rheometer to characterize a fluid according to the properties to be measured, the type of behaviour and the range of stresses considered. Awareness of the importance of rheology for a very wide range of applications (from blood to concrete, but also for melted polymers and polymer solutions)...

Content(s)

1 Types of solicitations
• 1.1 Elongation
• 1.2 Shear

2 Shear rheometers
• 2.1 Capillary Rheometers
• 2.2 Rotary Rheometers

3 viscous phenomena:
• 3.1 Newtonian fluids, shear thinning, shear thickening.
