Address wave superposition mechanisms in the field of beat, standing waves and interferences

Content(s)

Introduction: mathematical representation of a propagating wave, measurement of the speed of light, Descartes' law, Doppler effect.

Propagation: acoustic, mechanical (vibrating string) and electromagnetic wave propagation mechanisms.

Impedance: acoustic, vibrating string and electromagnetic impedance. Reflection, transmission.

Energy: acoustic and electromagnetic energy. Energy transmission

Wave superposition: beats, standing waves

Prerequisites
